A PERSONAL STATEMENT ABOUT MY SECRET BALLOT

I will be voting LABOUR in the GENERAL ELECTION next Thursday and THIS IS WHY:

The Tories are inescapably and exclusively the Party of the wealthy, the bankers, the silver spoon brigade and the corrupt. In everything except fiscal policy they have failed. Is life just about finance?

The Tories detest social equality, whether it be in education, the health service, housing or opportunity.

The Tories use immigration as a means of attacking the British work force by keeping wages low and filling slum housing which would otherwise be razed.

The Tories will destroy the Green Belt and sell off Forests and parts of our National Parks.

The Tories will take us out of the EC, alienate our NATO partners and dis-unite the United Kingdom.

The Tories will keep on raising retirement age and take away travel concessions.

The Tories will keep on raising prescription, dental, audio and optical charges.

The Tories will keep on paying six figure salaries to University bosses whilst students starve.

Labour will protect the interests of retired people and those who cannot fend for themselves

Labour will rein in the bankers’ excesses

Labour will  force employers to raise low-end wages and protect employees’ rights

Labour will keep us in tune with our NATO partners and maintain a healthy trading position in Europe

Labour will end the scourge of zero hours and “Internships”

Labour will regulate the energy market and end power companies’ excess profits

Labour will take away benefits from immigrants and force them to integrate

Labour will end Non Domiciled tax evasion

Labour will act to curb the private rental market and get-rich-quick landlords

Labour will kill off  the useless over-paid Police and Crime Commissioners

  BUT   I will be voting LIB DEM in the LOCAL ELECTIONS because neither Con nor Lab can be trusted to reduce local government  management salaries and thus council tax.  Many of the LABOUR candidates are employed in local government and seek only to perpetuate “no-job jobs” and ridiculous pension schemes. I want to see a root and branch clear out at every level of local government to ensure money goes where it is needed on policing, housing, road maintenance, social services, libraries and environmental services, not into fat-cat salaries and pensions.  Or in councillors’ “expenses”.  I say get rid of Cabinet style local government and bring back democracy. Why is that with Council tax the single biggest item on home expenditure after the mortgage that no-one bothers to vote?

As for THE OTHER PARTIES?     A vote for a minority party is a vote squandered. Most of them haven’t a clue how to even start running Britain. At least Screaming Lord Sutch had experience of standing on a stage!    Vote for these opportunist clowns and you are throwing away the chance to influence the only real policy makers and you may as well stay at home.
